Kay Brada
Member, AMPAC Board of Directors
Appointed to the AMPAC Board of Directors in 2008, Kay Brada is the representative from the American Medical Association Alliance (AMAA), and serves on the Congressional Review Committee and the Political Education Committee. Mrs. Brada graduated from the University of Kansas with a double major in Political Science and Public Administration, and Personnel Administration. Mrs. Brada is a City Clerk and substitute Court Clerk in Eastborough, Kansas.
Mrs. Brada has dedicated herself to advocacy activities on behalf of physicians and their spouses. She has been a member of the AMAA for over thirty years, and her leadership positions have included: Bylaws Chairman, from 2003-2004; the Legislation Committee Chairman from 2002-2003; and a member of the Legislation Committee from 2001-2002. She has also served on the AMA Council on Legislation from 2002-2003.
Mrs. Brada has been a longtime member and leader of the Kansas Medical Society Alliance, serving as President from 2000-2001, Vice President of Legislation from 2003-2004, and First Vice President, Second Vice President, and Secretary in 1998-1999. In 2006, she was awarded the Lela May Young Award, the highest award given by the Kansas Medical Society Alliance.
Mrs. Brada is a member of the Board of Directors of the Chancellors Club at the University of Kansas through 2013. She was also was also the American Psychiatric Association Alliance President in 2006 and President Elect in 2005.
Mrs. Brada, and her husband Donald Brada, MD, a psychiatrist, reside in Eastborough, Kansas. Their sons are Stephen Brada, MD, an AMA member-anesthesiologist, and Donald Brada Jr., an attorney.
