Appointed to the AMPAC Board of Directors in 2012, Dana M. Block-Abraham, DO, serves on the Congressional Review Committee and Membership Fundraising Committee. Dr. Block-Abraham specializes in maternal fetal medicine as a Fellow at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore, Maryland.
Dr. Block-Abraham received her medical degree from Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2007. She completed an osteopathic traditional rotating internship year at Broward General Medical Center in 2007-2008. She completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in 2012.
Service to organized medicine has also been an important part of Dr. Block-Abraham’s early career. She is currently a Delegate to the AMA House of Delegates from the AMA Resident and Fellow Section (RFS), having served in that position since 2009. She was the Chair of the RFS Legislative Advocacy Committee in 2012 and 2011, and was also a member of the Committee on Long Range Planning and Development from 2010-2011. During her residency, she also served as a Representative to the Resident and Fellow Section of the Tennessee Medical Association from 2008-2012.
Dr. Block-Abraham and her husband Allistair Abraham, MD, a pediatric oncologist, live in Laurel, Maryland with their son.
