Appointed to the AMPAC Board of Directors in 2012, Linda B. Ford, MD, serves on the Congressional Review Committee and the Political Education Committee. Dr. Ford is a board-certified allergist and immunologist and is the President and Senior Managing Physician of The Asthma and Allergy Center, a private practice in Bellevue, Nebraska.
Dr. Ford received her medical degree from The University of Nebraska. She completed her residency in Internal Medicine at St. Louis University Medical Center in Missouri and completed a Fellowship in Allergy and Immunology at Creighton University Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska. She is a Fellow of the American College of Asthma, Allergy and Immunology as well as of the American Academy of Allergy Asthma and Immunology. She is also a Certified Asthma Educator.
Dr. Ford has represented organized medicine at numerous levels. She served as a Delegate to the AMA House of Delegates from Nebraska from 1996-2011, and served as Chair of the Delegation from 2001-2011. She has been a member of the Nebraska Medical Association since 1980, and served on its Board of Directors from 2000-2011. At the Metropolitan Omaha Medical Society, Dr. Ford has been a member since 1986 and served on its Board of Directors from 1995-2011.
Dedication to her patients has extended into other realms of advocacy for Dr. Ford as well. She was the President of the American Lung Association from 1998-1999 and served on its Board of Directors from 1987 until 2000.
Among many charitable endeavors and awards, Dr. Ford has served on the Board of Directors of the AMA Foundation from 2002-2011, including a term as President from 2005-2006 and Vice-President from 2004-2005.
Dr. Ford is also the recipient of many awards recognizing her efforts on behalf of medicine and patients. In 2004, the American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology named her a Distinguished Woman in Allergy, while The University of Nebraska College of Medicine named her the Volunteer Faculty of the Year, to note the extraordinary role she played in the education of the College’s students and residents.
Dr. Ford resides in Bellevue, Nebraska.
