Chair, Membership Fundraising Committee, AMPAC Board of Directors
Appointed to the AMPAC Board of Directors in 2014, Steven J. Fleischman, MD, chairs the Membership Fundraising Committee and serves on the Congressional Review Committee.
Dr. Fleischman, a board-certified obstetrician and gynecologist, is currently in private practice in New Haven, Connecticut. He is also the Associate Chief of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Yale New Haven Hospital. Dr. Fleischman holds the rank of Associate Clinical Professor at the Yale University School of Medicine, where he is actively involved in the education of residents and medical students.
Dr. Fleischman received his medical degree from the Albany Medical College in Albany, New York. He completed his residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the Yale University School of Medicine in New Haven.
Dr. Fleischman has been involved in organized medicine throughout his career. As a member of the Connecticut State Medical Society (CSMS), he served as Council Chair (2011-13), Vice-Chair (2007-11) and on the Committee on Legislation (2004-11). On the local level, Dr. Fleischman has been an active leader with the New Haven County Medical Society as President (2005-06), Vice-President (2004-05) and on the Committee on Legislation (2001-present). He has been a member of the American College of Gynecology’s delegation to the AMA since 2008.
Political leadership on behalf of his fellow physicians is also familiar ground for Dr. Fleischman, as he has served on the Board of CSMS’ political action committee, MD PAC, since 2000, and has served as Chair of the OBGYNPAC.
Dr. Fleischman, a graduate of the AMPAC Candidate Workshop in 2008, has also been an active leader in his community; he has been elected to the Woodbridge (CT) Board of Education twice, and currently serves as Vice-Chair of the Board.
Dr. Fleischman and his wife Andrea reside in Woodbridge, Connecticut, with their four children.
