AMPAC Grads Win Elections!

AMPAC congratulates the following graduates of the Political Education Programs who have been successful in campaigns so far this year:

Barbara Bellar, MD won the Republican Primary for the 18th Senate District in Illinois. She attended the Candidate Workshop in 2012 and the Campaign School in 2011.

Jack Beller, MD made it to an August 28 runoff for the Republican nomination for the District 15 seat in the Oklahoma Senate. He attended the Candidate Workshop in 2012 and the Campaign School in 2011.

Alex Dunlap, MD was selected as one of 3 delegates to represent the 1st Congressional District of Arkansas at the Republican National Convention. He attended the Candidate Workshop and the Campaign School in 2012.

Andrew Eisen, MD won the Democratic Primary for Nevada’s 21st Assembly District. He attended the Candidate Workshop in 2010.

Charles Schwertner, MD, a member of the Texas House of Representatives, won the Republican nomination for the 5th District of the Texas Senate. He attended the Candidate Workshop in 2009.

Mark Shelton, MD, also a member of the Texas House, won the Republican nomination for the 10th District of the Texas Senate. Dr. Shelton attended the Candidate Workshop in 2007.

AMPAC Co-Hosts Regional Campaign and Grassroots Seminar with OSMA
On April 4, 2014, over 80 physicians and friends of medicine attended a Regional Grassroots and Campaign Seminar in Columbus, Ohio, co-hosted by AMPAC and the Ohio State Medical Association (OSMA). The Seminar was held in advance of OSMA’s annual meeting and was part of OSMA’s 12th Annual Education Symposium. more

NCMSPAC, AMPAC Co-Host Regional Seminar
On March 22, 40 physicians and friends of medicine attended the latest Regional Campaign and Grassroots Seminar, co-hosted by AMPAC and North Carolina Medical Society (NCMS). The Seminar was held as NCMS seeks to engage its members and North Carolina legislators on proposed reforms to Medicaid the will enhance physician input into new models for car delivery for the Tarheel State’s Medicaid population. more
