AMPAC Fast Facts AMPAC is the bipartisan political arm of the AMA, which exists to help elect physician-friendly candidates to the U.S. Congress. The National Journal ranked AMPAC the fourth most effective PAC in 2004. 100% of your personal contribution goes to elect medicine-friendly candidates. Every AMPAC contribution to U.S. House and Senate candidates is made with the input of the respective state medical society. AMPAC membership is only open to AMA, state and county medical society members, and their spouses, as well as AMA, state and county medical society staff. The AMA is prohibited from making contributions to federal candidates for political office.
