60 Years of Political Action!

In 1961 the members at the AMA realized the need for an advocacy arm to enhance the mission of the AMA and preserve the guidance set forth by its very own democratic and representative body of members.  That year, AMPAC was created as the first non-union Political Action Committee (PAC) in the United States and has been advancing the mission of the AMA ever since.  Today, after 60 years, we look back at the incredible achievements made by AMPAC and its lasting impact for physicians and medicine.

To celebrate, AMPAC is holding a promotional sweepstakes that includes a Grand Prize package trip for two to Washington, D.C. in the fall of 2022. The lucky Grand Prize winner of “AMPAC’s 60th Anniversary Celebration Giveaway” will travel to Washington, DC, for 4 days/3 nights where they will settle in at the beautiful and historic Hay-Adams Hotel located by the White House surrounded by the most iconic institutions, historic landmarks, and scenic outdoor squares in our nation’s Capital. Washington is steeped in rich history, and this trip will be an unforgettable way to explore this unique American City and experience all it has to offer.

Additional runner-up prizes include three sets of U.S. Capitol Marble Block Bookends with a certificate of authenticity and three autographed Dr. Fauci Bobblehead dolls.

All 2021 Capitol Club members are automatically entered in the drawing and the lucky winners will be announced during AMPAC’s Capitol Club event at the AMA’s 2021 November Interim meeting in Orlando, Florida.
