Anna Yap, MD

Dr. Anna Yap is a fourth year resident in the University of California, Los Angeles - Olive View Emergency Medicine program. She obtained her MD from Loma Linda University School of Medicine and her dual BA in Integrative Biology and in Music from the University of California, Berkeley. A typhoon of passion, she uses her multidisciplinary background to advocate for patients and physicians since day one of medical school, striving for a safer and more equitable healthcare system that cares for the most vulnerable of individuals. Most recently, she has been working to improve resident working conditions, engaging and supporting residents through her multiple leadership positions in organized medicine on the local, state, and national scale. 

She currently serves as Senior Digital Fellow at the American Medical Association, on the Governing Council of the California Medical Association Resident and Fellows Section, the Los Angeles County Medical Society Board of Directors, and the leadership team of the #ThisIsOurShot Campaign. She has previously served on the American Medical Association Resident and Fellows Governing Council, the AMA Medical Student Section Governing Council, Committee of Interns and Residents (CIR) Board of Directors, California ACEP Board of Directors and continues, and the California Medical Association Political Action Committee and continues to stay actively involved in these organizations. In her “free” time, she enjoys exploring farmer’s markets, improvised cooking, gaming, and absolutely not getting out of bed.
